Farah Khan to remake Shah Rukh Khan starrer Main Hoon Na? Deets inside

In 2004, Shah Rukh Khan collaborated with Farah Khan for the first time on the action-packed entertainer Main Hoon Na. The film was a major success, and over the years, SRK and Farah developed a strong partnership, maintaining a flawless track record. In recent years, there has been ongoing speculation about Farah attempting to set up a new project with Shah Rukh Khan. According to the reports she is working on a script that could serve as the perfect sequel to Main Hoon Na.

According to reports of Pinkvilla, Main Hoon Na 2 is currently in the early stages of development at Red Chillies Entertainment. “Main Hoon Na was the first film produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan under their banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, and holds a special place in their hearts. Farah has devised an idea for Main Hoon Na 2, and Shah Rukh is excited about the direction she intends to take for the sequel. At present, Farah is refining the screenplay with her team of writers, alongside those working at Red Chillies,” revealed a source familiar with the matter.

Insiders suggest that the idea of Main Hoon Na 2 has piqued Shah Rukh Khan’s interest, though he is keen to see how the final script unfolds. “SRK is determined not to pursue a sequel just for the sake of it. He is fully aware of the strong fanbase Main Hoon Na has among cinema-goers. Shah Rukh Khan has instructed Farah and his in-house team of writers to develop a screenplay that not only stays true to the original but also surpasses its impact. He is expected to review the first draft by mid-2025 before making a final decision. As of now, the script remains in the development stage,” added the source.

Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan have previously collaborated on Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, and Happy New Year. If the sequel materialises, it will mark their fourth project together. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan’s next appearance will be in King, directed by Siddharth Anand, which is slated for a 2026 release.
